About Truly Normal Guy

Truly Normal Guy is an open-world 3D action game set in a 2.4 km pastel city on the water. You drive, ride, fly and shoot your way across a beachfront strip of hotels and boardwalk, a mainland of downtown towers, docks, an airport and low-rise neighbourhoods, and three islands in the bay between them, joined by causeways.

Ten story jobs run level by level from a payphone outside your house, each a bigger charge than the last: drive to the target, hold E to plant it, get clear before the fuse, lose the police, go home for the money. Get shot or blown up and you lose the run. Between jobs there are taxi shifts, vigilante duty, street races, delivery runs, stunt ramps, rampages, twenty hidden packages and about six hundred doors you can walk through.

Cars, three motorbikes and a helicopter, all with crash physics: you can knock palm trees and lamp posts flat, smash windows and set cars on fire. Weather rolls in, six procedural radio stations play, and the neon comes on after dark.

WASD to move and drive, mouse to look, E to enter a car or use anything, TAB or M for the map, H for the full controls. There are cheat codes hidden in it too, for anyone who goes looking.

The prompt behind Truly Normal Guy

Build and publish an open-world 3D game called "Truly Normal Guy": a pastel seaside city seen on foot and from a car, with a helicopter, traffic, cutscenes, and missions that get harder by planting a bigger bomb each level while avoiding or blowing up the police. Then: detailed textured buildings and cars, 30% of them enterable with easter eggs inside, pickups, breakable windows, weather, street lights, the full city, breakable objects and car-only breakables. Then many rounds of correction from the user: the controls were backwards, F conflicted with browser fullscreen, the map was a grid with no design, the lighting was broken, models were flat, menus could not be closed, the map showed stale district names, cars could not hit trees, the UI was too small to read, and finally: add a set of cheat codes.
