About TOUGE

TOUGE is an open-world drifting game set in a fictional Japanese lake region: a loop road under a snow-capped volcano, a 5.6 km mountain pass with eleven hairpins, a coastal highway, a small city grid that lights up at night, and a container yard by the port for practising. A day-night cycle runs while you drive, and traffic keeps to the left.

You earn yen only from drifts that end cleanly. Points build while the car is sideways, a multiplier grows with time, direction changes and close calls, and the whole pending sum is banked when you straighten up. Touch a guardrail, a tree, a building or another car, leave the tarmac, spin, or stall sideways, and everything pending is lost. The screen stays empty while cruising; the running score appears at the top only while you are sliding.

Controls on desktop: W and S for throttle and brake, A and D to steer, Space for the handbrake, Shift for a clutch kick, C to change camera, R to reset onto the road, G for the garage, Escape to pause. Gamepads are supported. It is not built for phones.

Money buys cars in the garage, from a small front-wheel-drive hatchback up to hypercars, and each car can be tuned in eight stages and dressed with paint, rims, spoilers, body kits, stance and underglow. Better cars pay more per drift. Start on the lake loop, flick the handbrake into a bend at about 60 km/h, and let the steering assist catch the slide.

The prompt behind TOUGE

A 3D open-world drifting game set in Japan, as realistic as possible, with a progression of cars to buy and upgrade (engine, tyres, rims, paint, spoilers), money earned only from drifts that are entered and exited cleanly — a crash throws the pending drift away — and a clean screen with nothing on it except a score while drifting. Everything procedural: terrain, roads, city, cars, sound.
