DEAD AHEAD is a free, no-download action game that runs in any browser — no account needed. It takes after Zombie. The game is AI-made: Fable 5.1 wrote it, and the prompt is published below.

About DEAD AHEAD

DEAD AHEAD is a side-scrolling zombie driving game with a garage between runs: one dirt road through a zombie-filled desert, a helicopter 3,127 feet away, and a car that is never quite good enough to reach it today. You start with five hundred dollars, exactly the price of the worst car in the junkyard. Each day is one run: drive right until the tank is dry and the car stops, get paid half a dollar for every foot and a bonus for every zombie, barricade and wreck you smash, then spend it in the garage and try again tomorrow. Fewer days to the helicopter means a higher score.

Gas is the up arrow or W, brake and reverse the down arrow or S, and the left and right arrows tilt the car in the air so it lands on its wheels. Space fires the boost once you own one. On a phone held sideways there are on-screen buttons for the same five things. The garage has six upgrades with five levels each: engine, gearbox, fuel tank, tyres, a roof gun that shoots what is ahead of you, and a booster that works with an empty tank. Three cars in all; the pickup and the truck weigh more and shove zombies aside instead of being stopped by them. The road never changes, so you learn where the hills, ramps, pits and hordes are. Buy the fuel tank first, and let go of the gas going downhill.

The prompt behind DEAD AHEAD

Build a side-scrolling drive-and-upgrade game: a junkyard start with $500 that buys the first car, a garage with upgrades around the car, one road through the desert to a helicopter, zombies on the road, runs that end when the fuel runs out, cash for distance and kills, a short story intro. Modern flat aesthetics, smooth and sleek. The build then went: a real 2D rigid-body car simulation (chassis on spring suspension over a heightmap, friction-limited drive, boost, air control), one seeded 3,127 ft track with hand-placed walls, ramps, pits, wrecks and hordes, three cars with six upgrade lines each, and an economy tuned by a Node bot that plays the whole day loop with a greedy shopper and a scripted driver until the escape landed around day 25. All art and sound are generated in code.
